Toning Abs Is B.S.   by Aaron McCloud

Toning abs is a waste of time. What the hell is ‘toning’ anyway? It’s just an excuse for not working hard when you’re at the gym.

There are real ways to make your abdominal muscles stand out. Dieting down to lose fat is the most fundamental way, though ab exercises to make them stronger also work.

Here are some tips that will help you reveal your abs, not just toning them. But you have to commit yourself to really working to make real progress.

Toning Abs? Do Actual Exercise

Real exercise. Not ab crunches or expensive workout equipment or even drinking special anti-oxidant drinks.

Big, multi-joint lifts build lots of muscle and will end up working your abs anyway. For example, the standing barbell press is difficult, builds lots of upper body and arm strength, and makes you engage your core for stability.

Real exercise will not only accelerate your weight loss efforts, but also build real strength. So that you don’t just look strong – you’ll actually be strong.

Drop The Fat

You need to eat less to lose fat. End of story, end of discussion. Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something.

But, there are many different ways to eat less. And tools and tricks to use to accelerate your fat loss.

You can eat 6 small meals a day. Or two big meals – it really doesn’t matter that much. As long as you’re eating less and you can live with your eating style, that is what’s important.

The ‘eating 6 small meals is essential’ school of thought is a lie. It happens to be a way to eat less that works for many people, but many others put on muscle just fine using a variety of different eating styles.
